TISSUE SPECIFICITY: Expressed exclusively in tissues containing a high content of terminally differentiated epithelial cells including mammary gland, colon, trachea, kidney, prostate, uterus, stomach and skin. INDUCTION: Transcriptionally regulated by ERBB2 receptor signaling in breast cancer epithelial cells. Up-regulated by phorbol 12- myristate 13-acetate (PMA) in bronchial epithelial cells.
